Celebrating 150 years of supporting the visually impaired community
Based on a residential campus in Hereford, RNC is the UK’s leading specialist further education college (and charity) for young people age 16-25 who are visually impaired or blind. The college first opened its doors in south London in 1872, with HRH Queen Victoria as its royal Patron, now HRH Prince Charles.
Being a national centre of expertise for people with visual impairment, RNC provides a broad academic and vocational curriculum which is underpinned by specialist skills for life and an award winning Sports Academy. The College experience is more than qualifications. It’s about achievement beyond the classroom – developing self-confidence, independence and communication skills that are needed for careers as well as personal development.
RNC is also home to community and commercial enterprises, each of which stems from and feeds back into the students’ learning experience so please visit www.rnc.ac.uk/our-services for more information. And if you’d like to find out more about supporting us (personally or via your business) in our milestone anniversary year, please log onto www.rnc.ac.uk/support or email: firstname.lastname@example.org
